It has been a minute since I have focused on a solo album, precisely since 2011 before I moved to Seattle, where I worked with IfThen making the dopest alternative hip hop album we have ever made before with our project named Naksty Grubbins. We used to make that stuff in St. Louis at the turn of the millennium with our project, The Ology. That album inspired me to get a studio and start working with singers and emcees. In that time I also worked my friend Jon, from a band that didn’t get off the ground in Brooklyn 2009, and my old band mate, Johnny (JD Riverie), from the old St. Louis punk rock days, Phoney Moaners. I think SoundCloud is in need of some of our old recordings there. I’ve since then worked on writing and recording Tiny Beast (with Jordan Levinson), Nomadic Roots (Lana Bunny), Inner Scepter, Kaotic Rawkus, and Montauk’s Infinity and a bunch of one off stuff. Much of that is still to be completed and released. I absolutely can not wait to release all of it! In the meantime I’ve still been writing music with the objective to make a solo album. While this album isn’t a cohesive thought in one continuous effort, it is instead an in between the lines artifact of progressions and reflection of my states while all this and life became 6 years older for me. The other day I got an email from my sister-in-law saying she would like to hear a new album from me. So I put this out. Thanks Courtney for the motivation!
